Like most of my fellow Americans, I too was glued to my television last night, along with my computer, keeping tabs on all the election coverage. When I heard about the issues with the ballots in Palm Beach county I started ranting...that we should just force the state to secede, whether they wanted to or not. If it were possible to make the butterfly ballot even more complicated, they succeeded. Luckily, it didn't come down to the Sunshine State. We cheered Pennsylvania, we cheered Ohio, and we cheered Colorado. McCain's concession speech was the best speech I've ever heard him give, even if his crowd couldn't be gracious in defeat. Obama's speech gave me goosebumps. While I sat in bed listening I marveled at how well-spoken and compelling a speaker he is. I know for a lot of people the speech is just considered lip service, but for me it made me think that hey, maybe the light at the end of this tunnel isn't a train after all. Still, I wouldn't want to be in his shoes, this is quite the mess to try and clean up.
